While Instagram is insanely popular, for professional photographers it has always provided a headache or two because of its policy allowing users to embed photos posted to the streaming service in third-party publications.
While I am certain that the young people of today are comfortable doing EVERYTHING they do on their smart phone (they are probably working on an app that makes babies too!) I am not. I use the phone to do something radical. I use it like a phone. I prefer to do pretty much everything on my computer. And since I prefer using my Olympus cameras to make photos, I put those pictures together on my desktop or laptop Mac.
Unfortunately, the way Instagram works keeps changing and it’s tough to come up with a strategy to organically improve your interactions there.
But there is ONE thing I have tried that works for me, anyway.
Using the right hashtags and using them in the right place.
